Pihkan PRA- N/N + muut virallisena kopiona

Pihkan PRA-geenitulos tuli tänään Optigenilta ja Pihka on:

 prcd-PRA (Optigen) - PCR

 Result: genotype N/N (clear)

 Interpretation: The analysed dog is a noncarrier of the mutation
 in the PRCD-gene and will not develop the prcd-form of PRA.
 Since it cannot pass the mutation onto its offspring,
 it can be mated to any other dog.

Nyt on Pihka tutkittu sekä luustoltaan että geeneiltään ( PRA, HNPK, EIC) terveeksi eli on odotettavissa terveitä pentuja. Koskaan ei tietenkään tiedä, mitä luonto asialle tekee mutta parasta mahdollista terveyspohjaa on haettu ja siinä on onnistuttu.
PRA ja EIC olivat tiedossa jo heti, koska Väinö on perimän kautta terve. HNPK eli korppukuonokin on nyt poisssa- vain kantajia voi olla, koska Väinöä ei ole tukittu- mutta korppukuonoonkan eivät pennut voi sairastua.

Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) - PCR

 Result: Genotype N/N

 Interpretation: The dog is homozygous normal concerning the intact
 gene. The dog is genetically clear and will not be affected by
 EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse).
 The dog can pass only the normal gene on to all its offspring.
 The currently known mutation has been analysed.

Hereditare nasal parakeratosis (HNPK) - PCR
 Result: Genotype N/N (Free)
 Interpretation: The examined dog is homozygote for the intact
 gene. This dog do not carry the mutation described to cause
 Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK).
 This dog will only pass the intact healthy gene on to all of its
 offspring.
 The result is only valid for the breed: Labrador Retriever
